We want to wish all of you a Happy Fourth of July.  Today I am sharing with you a new exciting project I have been working on over the past few months.   I have been spending many hours and time working on a new Who Wants To Be A Millionaire PowerPoint Game that you all deserve to have.  It will be released in a few weeks, so stay tuned. 

If you are watching the current Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Game Show on TV, it will reflect a similar blue and gold theme.  So stay tuned for this project and you can be one of the first to have it. 

In the mean time, you can download the free version by visiting my second most read blog article as of today.  Simply scroll up to the top and you will see a picture of the thumbnail on the left or you can click on the picture below.

Recently, we have been receiving numerous e-mails on how to perform certain activities in PowerPoint. So in a few weeks I will be releasing free YouTube Video Tutorials on PowerPoint 2010.  These tutorials will walk you step by step and hold your hand as you are learning all the new features of PowerPoint 2010.

So I am excited about that project which will be released in a few weeks.  Well I am off to join the family for a Great Fourth Of July Weekend.  We hope you Have a Great Fourth of July Weekend!

Have You Started Broadcasting on YouTube?

Today I am so excited to let you know that I am now on YouTube. That’s right I have created my own broadcasts  or TV shows on YouTube. You can share ideas, how to videos and resources for free on YouTube.  To check out my channel, you can click on the picture above or simply click here.  As of today, I have posted 13 videos with more to come over the summer.

You can start your own broadcast with a digital camera and using Windows Movie Maker.  You can check out the blog article I wrote November 29, 2009 for the free online tutorial.  If you have the new Windows Live Movie Maker that comes with Windows 7, then click here for a free video tutorial or click on the video below.

To start your own YouTube channel simply visit: http://www.youtube.com/   and follow the instructions on how to start your own YouTube account. If you are an elementary, middle school or high school student, make sure you get your parents permission before starting your own YouTube channel.

Students remember never to give out any personal information online such as your real name, city, address, age or school. I hope you enjoy my videos I have posted on YouTube. I will be sharing more videos in the future.

How to be an Effective Teacher: Part 2 of 3

I know a lot of you are excited as the students return to school on Monday. I know you have all been patiently waiting for me to share my PowerPoint on procedures and routines on the first day of school. Remember this was featured in Dr. Harry K. Wong's keynote presentation all around the United States.

First let me share with you the 7 questions that student will have when they enter your classroom. The following information below was from my notes from the Keynote Address. You can find more information in the book: The First Days of School.

1. Am I in the right room?
This gives them a sense of security to know they are in the right place.

2. Where am I suppose to sit?
This lets them know I want you here and I am inviting you into my classroom and I have planned for you.

3. What are the rules in this classroom?
This helps the classroom run more smoothly.

4. What will I be doing this year?
This is your chance to sell what it is they will be learning this year. Create excitement for your classroom for the upcoming school year.

5. How will I be graded?
What is your grading policy? Let them know what it is they need to do to earn a grade in your classroom.

6. Who is my teacher as a person?
Let the students know something about you and they will have a better time relating to you. Tell them what you like, collect or any hobbies or interests you have. Tell them about yourself. If you do not do this, then they will be inventing things about you.

7. Will my teacher treat me fairly?
Yes I will treat you fair, but your definition of fair may not be the same as mine.
