The era of SmackDown! Prior to Brand Extension
SmackDown! is made by the WWE event that is intended to rival WCW show, Thunder. At first SmackDown! planned as a special performance of the Divas (female wrestlers WWE), but the plan was aborted and SmackDown! be a complementary show RAW. In the U.S., SmackDown! first aired on April 29, 1999, when it is planned as special performances only. However, because of the many wrestling fans who watch this show, SmackDown! finally got a primetime broadcast hour on Thursday, competing with WCW Thunder. SmackDown! itself is identical with the color blue so often called "The Blue Show".
Smackdown theme song! did not actually sung by the band as well as RAW is WAR, but that makes the theme first WWE SmackDown! (Which presumably is a combination of techno and rock). SmackDown! used to have a unique oval arena setting, distinctive and different from the RAW. SmackDown! (The anniversary of both), changing the theme song to "Beautiful People", sung by Marilyn Manson. SmackDown! also replace the arena began to set the time (a bit like that today).
Special event SmackDown! 11 September 2001
On 11 September 2001, after the terrorist attacks in the U.S., recording impressions SmackDown! canceled and instead live broadcast aired two days later. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 is a professional wrestling video game released by THQ and developed by YUKE's Future Media Creators. The game is based on the professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It is the eighth installment in the WWE SmackDown vs. Raw (later renamed to simply WWE) series and is the successor to 2005's WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 and was succeeded by WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 in 2007. THQ, Yuke's and WWE officially confirmed the game on March 31, 2006. The game was released in November 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 consoles and was released in December 2006 for the PlayStation Portable system. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 is the first game in the WWE SmackDown vs. Raw series to be released outside the PlayStation consoles.
The game introduced a few key new features including an analog control system, interactive hotspots, and fighting within the arena crowd. The game also included several improvements on the previous game's existing match types and modes.
